The Vibrant History of Aloe Vera

Generations and generations of people have been using aloe vera in many forms for a variety of reasons. From word of mouth passed down to official recordings, aloe vera both for topical and ingested uses has been around since the beginning of time.

Not surprisingly, the earliest recorded uses of aloe vera were by the Egyptians. Aloe vera plants are distinctly depicted in their hieroglyphics. They thought so much of this plant that it earned the nickname “Plant of Immortality.” Even then, people knew the healing properties this plant possessed.

Of course, the most beautiful queens to ever exist in Egypt’s history, Nefertiti and Cleopatra, were big on using aloe vera as part of their daily beauty regimens. And Egypt is just one country with a recorded history for using this miracle plant! Ancient Chinese history also points to extensive use of aloe vera to topically relieve burns and wounds as well as reduce fever.

The Aloe vera plant contains more than 200 biological, naturally occurring components including vitamins, enzymes, amino acids, polysaccharides and minerals that promote nutrient absorption, digestive health, healthy immune system, and a reduction of nitrates. Even though ancient civilizations didn’t have the kind of technology we have today to scientifically determine these components, they recognized the extensive benefits of using and ingesting aloe vera, and it likely kept them well during their lives.

One of the best ways to partake of the many benefits of aloe vera is to enjoy it as an aloe vera drink. That’s probably how we came to begin drinking aloe vera juice, because the people from ancient times recognized the healthy effects of it on their outer bodies, they surmised that drinking it would have a profoundly beneficial impact on their insides. Right they were! Drinking aloe vera juice brings about many wonderful impacts, including healthier digestion, better immunity, reduced inflammation, and better hydration, to name a few.

If you’ve never tried drinking aloe vera juice before, you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise. It’s light and refreshing with bursting bits of fresh pulpy aloe vera. Coupled with a unique range of flavors, you’ll find the aloe vera juice made by Okyalo to be cool and soothing. Drink it often and you will notice a distinct positive shift in your overall health.
